Custom Built Research Facility For Government Departments
The Glasshouse Company Pty Ltd have been custom designing greenhouse facilities for various government departments and nurseries for over 15 years. Our expert team can help you from concept to completion. All aspects of critical control of the plant environment is looked at to suit your needs. Heating, cooling, screens, fogging systems, irrigation, ventilation and benching are just some of the areas The Glasshouse Company Pty Ltd can offer you to ensure optimal plant growth and production. Computer systems enable total control of all greenhouse functions giving you full data logging of environmental conditions for future reference and analysis. You can identify the optimal production environment for any crop and have the computer system maintain it.
One of the keys of optimal growth is the ability to ventilate the greenhouse complex. Motorised rack and pinion vents can be installed at the gable of the research greenhouse to give the growing environment the ability to maintain desirable temperatures without the use of mechanical cooling. Evaporative cooling systems are best utilised in vented research greenhouses.
Heating And Cooling
Different forms of heating and cooling systems can be installed to control the plant environment. Reverse cycle systems work best for quarantine areas and evaporative cooling and gas heating work best for ventilated areas. Ducting and disbursement grills ensure the heating and cooling is utilised to maximise their economic value.
Environmental control systems gives you integrated control over the growing environment. Computer systems operate all functions of the greenhouse rooms individually to give you versatility and a record of growing conditions for future reference and analysis. Dial in to check your plants' environment and change the parameters with the touch of a button.
Utilise thermal/shade screens to give your growing environment the best possible efficiency of your greenhouse heating and cooling. Deploy your screen automatically at night to conserve heat as well as during warm sunny days to reflect outward a proportion of the incoming solar radiation. Manual external shade screens are also useful in reducing the heat load.
Fixed, roll top or mobile benching can be installed to best utilise your growing area and to suit your crops specific needs.
Most research greenhouses require the cleanest possible environment, not only for optimal growth but also to meet the strict containment regulations research facilities demand. Airlocks installed for PC2 quarantine requirements are fitted with the finest sealed architectural doors available. The Glasshouse Company Pty Ltd imports the finest quarantine mesh available on the world market.
Centre for AgriBioscience Project
Agribio, Centre for AgriBioscience, is a $288 million world class centre for agricultural biosciences research and development at La Trobe University's Bundoora Campus being delivered by the Victorian Government, La Trobe University and Plenary Research Consortium. As described by the Department of Primary Industries "Agribio will be one of Australia's premier biosciences facilities, with a key emphasis on supporting and protecting Victoria's A$10 billion agricultural sector by focusing on cutting edge research to improve productivity, fight disease and reduce environmental impact". The Glasshouse Company supplied and installed the glasshouses, poly houses and screen houses on the Centre for AgriBioscience project.
