Svensson Shade Screens - Create a Stable Environment
Heat Stress - The most effective way of cooling your plants is by reflecting back out excessive solar radiation. Plant temperatures can be reduced by as much as 120C whilst at the same time relative humidity can be increased. Optimum Light As the screens are movable you can then optimise the light your plants require. On mornings, afternoons, cloudy days and of course during winter days, the screens are open. As the screens are movable, you can then optimise the light your plants require. Cold Stress By combining polyethylene and aluminium you can reduce the heat loss at night by up to 60%. This means your plants are up to 60 C warmer whilst at the same time reducing the relative humidity. Relative Humidity With warmer plants at night time this will reduce the relative humidity and reduce the possibility of disease. As Svensson screens are the highest quality, they come with a 5 year UV pro-rata guarantee. The screens also reduce the UV, are resistant to greenhouse chemicals, and they are knitted and don’t fray.
Shade Houses
To protect your crop from excessive summer heat and direct radiation, use a simple shade system designed by The Glasshouse Company many years ago. Our shade houses can be built in bays as large as 8.0 metres x 8.0 metres. This means you only have one post in the middle of a house 16.0 metres x 16.0 metres. That wouldn't happen with an old pipe framed shade house. Large areas of shade net can be constructed to ensure your valuable crop is not affected by extreme weather conditions.
